The Tizio light was designed by Richard Sapper in 1972. This was an improvement to Ernesto Gismondi’s work lamp design. The Tizio produces light with a wide range of movement while utilizing only a small space.
Sapper took advantage of the invention of the halogen light so that he used it to reduce his lamp’s head size. The result was a combination of simplicity, technical innovation and an element of witty surprise brought out by a beautiful adjustment of arms in a counterbalanced system to light your space with an alluring appeal.
Tolomeo was designed by Michelle De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina and in 1991. It has several variations that include; a mini, a mega, wall spot, a classic, a suspension and a floor.
This gives users options to choose from. The design is flexible to allow for adjustments using the articulated aluminum arms and the 3-directional pivoted shade.
The Artemide Copernico suspension lamp by Carlotta De Bevilacqua– This consists of nine concentric movable ellipses rotating independently on two axes. This directs light emission in numerous, simultaneous, spatial configurations. It has another variant, the Artemide Copernico 500 LED Suspension light with two complete white and red.
